Cultivating Equity, Growth, and Resilience in Agriculture

The California Black Farmers Conference is a statewide gathering dedicated to empowering Black farmers, urban growers, land stewards, food system leaders, ag-adjacent professionals, and their allies. We offer resources, networking opportunities, and a platform to amplify voices driving equity, sustainability, and regenerative change in agriculture.

Who We Gather For

The California Black Farmers Conference is a home place for all Black and African diasporic people connected to land, food, water, fire, air, culture, science, and community.

We welcome and honor:

Farmers, ranchers, fishermen, horsemen, and urban growers

Foragers, mushroom cultivators, herbalists, seedkeepers, beekeepers, and winemakers

Water stewards, water protectors, and ocean defenders

Food workers, chefs, bakers, and cooperative builders

Scientists, educators, researchers, and environmental stewards

Air quality experts and climate resilience leaders

Fire practitioners, cultural burners, and land restoration workers

Artists, storytellers, musicians, and cultural workers

Youth leaders, elders, and wisdom keepers

Policy advocates, organizers, and land defenders

Composters, soil builders, regenerative farmers, and mycologists

Controlled Environment Agriculture innovators and agroecologists

While we center the voices, needs, and leadership of Black and African diasporic communities, we warmly welcome allies of all colors, cultures, and creeds who are committed to equity, food justice, and the collective liberation of all people.

Why We Gather

We gather to reclaim our roots, our land, and our future. We gather to empower, to build, and to honor the wisdom carried through our hands and soil. We gather to advance equity in land access, and to create a future where food sovereignty is not just a dream, but a reality.
We gather because our voices matter, our stories endure, and our communities deserve to thrive.

Through this work, we:

Honor the past

Educate the present

Plan the path forward

At every workshop, around every table, and across every acre—we are cultivating liberation, one seed at a time.

Happy Family
